  • My name is Caitlin, I am from Cape Town, South Africa.

    I am currently working as a chef on superyachts around the world.

  • Q2. Why you choose TSA to learn about Sushi?

  • I chose to study at TSA because I wanted an authentic learning experience in Japan,

    and TSA had the most intensive and thorough course that I could find.

  • Q3. Where did you stay while you were in Tokyo?
  • I stayed in a Sakura House apartment in Monzen Nakacho,

    which was a 25 minute walk from the Tsukiji campus.

  • Q4. What was your favorite part of the course?
  • My favourite part of the course was learning about a huge range of fish and seafood,

    and learning about the history and culture of Japanese cuisine.

  • Q5. What was the most challenging part of the whole course?
  • The most challenging part of the of the course was perfecting the knife skills to cut fish correctly, and perfecting nigiri!
  • Q6. Could you tell us about your sushi chef career story after you graduated our school?
  • I am working on superyachts, and regularly make sushi for guests.

    I am now much more confident and quick.

  • My time in Japan was one of the best experiences of my life so far.

    I learned so much, met incredible people, and the TSA staff were excellent teachers and tried their best to make sure every student was happy,

    both inside class and out. I 100% recommend anyone who is interested to do the course!
